Minimum Age

Minimum age for competition is 30 years. Age is determined as at 31 December 2023 by the youngest player in the team.

Age Divisions

Social 30+, 40+ and 50+ women's 
Premier 30+ women's
Mixed team open age group from 30+ upwards

Fees

Sport Fee: $60 per player per team

If you are a player in need of a team, please select the team named "I need a Social Netball team" and use PIN 1234. The sport convenor will then allocate you to a team.

Games Registration Fee in addition to sport fee:

• Early Bird #1 - $69 per person (ends 31 Aug 2022)
• Early Bird #2 - $71 per person (ends 31 Dec 2022)
• Nominal Registration - $89 per person (ends 25 May 2023)

Additional Information

• Registrations close 5 May 2023
• It is recommended that each team consist of a minimum 10 and a maximum 12 players (in case of injury).
• All games will be 2 x 12 minute halves.
• No grading games will be played - women's team organisers should indicate an appropriate division - Premier league (division 1) or Social, when submitting their team entry. The organiser's reserve the right to reallocate at their discretion.
• A team’s division will be determined by the age of the youngest player in the team
• Teams will be placed in appropriate age groupings dependent on the total number of nominations received per age division.
• Match balls will be supplied by organisers. Teams are required to bring their own practice balls.
• No special consideration is able to be given for game times. All teams must be available to compete at any time within the time schedule stated in the times information listed above.
• Competition will be conducted under the All Australian Netball Association rules.
• The competition is presented by the Cairns Netball Association and sanctioned by Netball Queensland

• Mixed Netball Information

A team must start with at least one male on the court, with a maximum of three males may be on the court at any time. Teams may use more than three males during the game but must only have three on at any time with any extras being used as substitutes. If during the game any males are injured which results in the team being left with no males then play may continue provided the team still has 5 players on court.

Male players shall play one in each area of the court (mid court, goals, and defence).

The combination is:
GS or GA
WA or C or WD*
GD or GK *

Alternatively, if teams have two male players in the mid court, then they cannot have a male player in defense or goals:
WA and C – cannot have a male in GS or GA
WD and C – cannot have a male in GD or GK

• Umpire Information
Every team must provide an umpire. This can be either a non-playing official or a registered player. If you are unable to provide an umpire please contact admin@cairnsnetball.net.au and one will be provided (fees apply). It is recommended that teams have a reserve umpire available. Should the umpire suffer an injury the team will still be expected to provide an umpire. Umpires for the medal play-off rounds will be by invitation. Umpires can be of a different age to the team.
